Witches and Wine For A Good Cause!

This post is a little more personal than usual. My cousin, Tony, has been a firefighter in Denver for twenty-one years and a paramedic for twenty-nine years. He’s been diagnosed with a work-related cancer that requires, as usual, an expensive out-of-state treatment. There is a GoFundMe account that has so far raised nearly half of the money, but half isn’t good enough when you’re battling cancer.

So, there is a TWO-WEEK ONLINE AUCTION happening now to raise more!

I wanted to let readers of the blog know we’ve paired signed copies of The Vine Witch trilogy (paperback and audio available) with a bottle of Staura Cellars wine, which is the boutique winery my other cousin, Tony’s sister, owns with her husband. Their wine is fantastic! And a gold medal winner!

There is also a Florida vacation, sports memorabilia, signed celebrity photos, tea and soap baskets, jewelry, wine club memberships, etc. to bid on. If you’re interested, please visit the online auction site by clicking on the embedded link above and have a look around for a good cause.

Thank you! And if you see something you like, bid!

New Novel Coming…Soonish

I’ve been working steadily all through the pandemic, which many of you know has had its unique challenges, and somehow managed to turn in my latest manuscript to the publisher this week! The working title is The Raven Sisters, but I don’t yet know if that will stick. Sometimes things change in the editorial process. This is the first book of a new witchy duology from 47North that will be out sometime late this year or early next. I’ll report more on the release when I have a firm date.

While related to the world of The Vine Witch in some subtle ways, this story takes place ten years earlier in a fantasy version of Victorian London. Here’s a brief description of what it’s about:

After a pair of witches remove a man's memories, he tracks them down and demands they return what they stole. But when he's given another man's memory by mistake—that of a recent murder victim—he and the witches get drawn into the hunt for a serial killer in Victorian London.

*And for a visual hint of what this novel is about, here’s a little mood board to go along with the story:

I’ve been fortunate to have Susannah Jones narrate the audio versions of all three books of The Vine Witch series. She gets excellent reviews from listeners, and deservedly so. In this third book of the series, however, she’s been joined by fellow actress Vaneh Assadourian who reads the chapters told in Sidra’s fiery point of view.

I’m happy to report they are already receiving some much deserved praise from Booklist, a publication of the American Library Association, for their narration of The Conjurer:

“Jones’ standard American accent contrasts with Assadourian’s light Middle Eastern cadence, which hints at the story’s ancient mystery, and her tones, which allude to the underlying danger the sisterhood faces. The quest engages the imagination and the narrators increase suspense through wide-ranging emotional phrasings.” — Booklist

Congrats ladies!

If you prefer to listen to your novels, you can get the audio version at Audible.com.
