Coming Soon!

My copies of The Conjurer have arrived! And they are even prettier in person. You’ll notice the cover is an ode to spices, perfumes, and incense — all things familiar to Sidra and the magic of Provence.

Story summary:

Sidra didn’t murder her husband. Yet even a jinni can’t wish away a wrongful imprisonment. Determined to prove her innocence, she returns to her adopted home—a French village renowned for its perfume witches—with her friends Elena and Yvette by her side. Here is where Sidra’s true destiny awaits, but danger also lurks in the village’s narrow lanes.

On her trail is Jamra, another jinni, who’s after more than revenge for the murder of his brother. He also seeks vengeance for the indignities inflicted on jinn by mortals over the centuries. When he learns of an ancient relic capable of unleashing chaos on the world, and that the weapon is in the hands of his murderous sister-in-law, he vows to destroy Sidra to get it.

Relying on a sisterhood of magic, a mysteriously faithful dog, and a second-rate sorcerer, Sidra defends herself using the village’s greatest asset: its perfume. It’s as beguiling a lure as it is a formidable shield. But is it enough for Sidra to protect herself and those she loves from powers yet to be released?

The Conjurer is officially out on January 12, 2021! And I hope you enjoy this final installment (?) of the series.

Order here from Amazon. Paperback also available from Barnes & Noble and Target online.

**Shout out to Micaela Alcaino who has designed all three covers of The Vine Witch trilogy!

A Golden Owl

My publisher, 47North, recently sent me this Golden Owl award for The Vine Witch surpassing a significant sales milestone. Of course, that wouldn’t have happened without all the wonderful readers who took a chance on my debut novel. So thank you all for reading, reviewing, and recommending the book to friends and family!

I wish you all a wonderful holiday season and a healthy, prosperous, kind, and sane New Year! Er, 2021 just has to get better, amiright?

BELLISSIMO!

Look at that! The Italian version of The Vine Witch - La Strega Della Vigna - has a cover! Isn’t it beautiful. A different interpretation from the US version, but just as cool. My sleuthing tells me this version goes on sale in January 2021, so if you are in the Italian market, keep an eye out for the book from Armenia publishers. Bellissimo!

a Vine Witch in the Family

IMG_4775.jpg

So, here is a story for you. I have a second cousin who I really haven't kept in touch with over the years. As kids we saw each other often in the summer and at holidays (her mom is my first cousin), but it's been years and years since we last met. During that time, of course, I've published The Vine Witch, a story about a witch who makes wine in turn-of-the-century France. And she, it turns out, has been off making wine and being a real vine witch! I had no idea when I wrote the book that for the last six years she’s run a boutique vineyard in Napa, California with her husband.

We got together this week and had a little gift exchange. I gave her some books and she gifted me some of her wine from Staura Cellars. Believe me, I got the better end of the deal! Check out that award-winning wine. Gold medal winners!

I wanted to share this with everyone. My publisher, 47North, recently sent me this plaque for The Glamourist after exceeding a milestone of 50K books sold in the first three months of publication. Thank you to 47North and everyone who has read and recommended The Glamourist and The Vine Witch to friends, family, and/or the stranger standing six feet away in the socially-distanced line at the grocery store! I’m thrilled the books have found their readers.

And, just a reminder, The Conjurer is only three months away from publication, so watch for it or pre-order here!
