I’m pleased to share the full paperback cover for The Witch’s Lens. I love, love, love the spread of golden leaves. Linden trees are associated with all kinds of symbolism. Because of their heart-shaped leaves, they’re a natural emblem of love, but they’re also associated with good luck, divinity, and protection. This is why my main character carries an amulet of bound linden leaves in her pocket when her adventure begins.

New Series Coming Soon

We’re getting very close to having a cover to share for The Witch’s Lens, the first book in a new series coming out in October 2023. I’ve had a sneak peek at the unfinished version, and it is beautiful!

The novel is set on the Eastern Front during the early years of WW1, and the Kodak vest pocket camera plays a big part in the story. About the size of today’s iPhone, the camera fit easily into a coat pocket, making it ideal for a soldier on the move—or a witch recruited to fight supernatural forces hovering over the scene of battle.

We Have a Title

We have an official title for the new series I’m working on: THE ORDER OF THE SEVEN STARS. The first book in the duology will be called THE WITCH’S LENS.

This story is set during WW1 on the Eastern front and features a young witch whose husband has gone off to fight for the Empire against the tzar’s army, but when she and her camera are recruited to fight the supernatural forces that have permeated the scene of battle, her life will never be the same.

The first book is already written. I’m just working on edits now and pondering book two, which I’ll begin writing in January.

Keen readers will remember the Order of the Seven Stars from The Conjurer, book three in The Vine Witch series. Now, during wartime, the Order’s influence and knowledge has never been needed more!
